Tips on material to catch Pollack with longline

Here are some articles that will guide you about your equipment for fishing the site with a machine gun

Rod

Various types of rods can be used for this fishing such as surfcasting rods (4.20 m), carp rods, or rods of 3 meters or shorter if you fish by boat, with recommended power between 60 and 100 grams.
You can opt for the Triton Tele 60 series from Zebco, with rods designed for medium-heavy throwing and lead fishing. Sunset's Kilvara range, is made of "Technifiber" Carbon and equipped with a tubular reel seat and Sic Seaguide rings, among others, and has a very good action. Then, the Shimano Beastmaster CX comes with a 30 cm extension (which will allow you to quickly change the length of this rod). Its progressive action gives even more precision during the throw and will give you the opportunity to conduct the fights as required.
Finally, there will be Tenryu's SP 73 XH Injection, which has a progressive action over the entire length of its blank. It is designed for researchers of large r fish (very large bass, huge leagues, tropical fisheries, etc.) and accepts without hesitation up to 150 grams of lead for vertical fishing.

Reel

As for the reel, you will simply need to equip yourself with a good lure fishing reel, which is lightweight and robust. A reel in 3000 or 4000 will suffice.
In the entry-level range, you can find Mitchell's Tanager RZ range, with an aluminium coil (+ an additional graphite coil), four bearings, a brake with felt washers and a graphite crank. There are three ranges for the Daiwa brand, first the Theory. It is equipped with the latest Automatic Tournament Drag brake technology that makes it more accurate and efficient. In addition, Mag Sealed oil protects the frame even in full rotation. Very good value for money.
Then, the Caldia offers a new, more refined design (which improves its rotation quality, thanks in particular to the new rotor). It preserves the MAGSEALED magnetized oil that protects the frame against water intrusion and preserves its fluidity over the long term and the structure of the control wheel has been remanufactured to have more resistance. In very high end, you will find the Saltiga. It is equipped with Magsealed bearings (sealed and permanently fluidized by Mag Oil), which greatly improve the life of the reel and its fluidity of rotation. In addition, the brake system is evolving with the introduction of the A.T.D. (Automatic Tournament Drag) brake, which improves the accuracy of the brake.

Longline

For Longline, here are some articles that can guide your choice: You will first have the Original Ragot longline, created and invented by André Ragot in 1954. You can then find Hayabusa's Sabiki HS201, Ragot's Herring and finally Flashmer's Blue Mack (the 10 feather trains).
