Cast fishing with dough

Cast fishing with dough

Cast fishing with dough, a great technique to tease the roaches and tenches in the pond.

What is the approach

The approach for casting fishing with dough is almost identical to seeds fishing, but depending on the dough used, we will aim either at small fish (roaches, bleak, small tenches etc...) or beautiful fish (carp, tenches, etc...) or even specimens. In terms of equipment, you don't need to take up too much space either, a rod of about 8 meters, a landing net and a keep are more than enough for a small fishing trip, an accessory that I find essential for dough fishing: a scion bowl.

The equipment

For cast fishing with dough, it is better to use a rod with a maximum fitting of 8 meters, a comfortable length between 5 and 6 meters is ideal for me, you can use a longer rod, but it will be less optimal to use than a short rod; for fishing small fish use a light rod, the catches are generally very fast since the lightness becomes a significant advantage; to catch beautiful fish, a strong rod is essential, the starts can be violent with a beautiful small ball of dough.
For the line body, a soft nylon such as Drennan Double Strength between 8% and 22% is sufficient most of the time, if you are looking for specimens and your rod allows it, you can increase the diameter of your nylon without problem. For the leader the same thing in a diameter 2% smaller than your line body.
A solid or hollow elastic adapted to your fishing is an interesting option; the dough like the seed sometimes offers surprises and an elastic can prevent you from breaking on a beautiful fish.
For the float and hook, there will be as many models as there are fishing conditions. However, there are some things that do not deviate from the rules.
And finally the essential accessory for cast fishing with dough: the scion bowl. This small accessory that is fixed on the tip of the tip of the tip of the tip allows you to place the ball of dough on the tip with precision and delicacy in order to always place the ball intact before it enters the water and in the same place.
