In order to support fish successfully for sea bream, you need to know the right thing to do, below are some tips to help.
Mounting
The most commonly used setting is a stacked setting. This means that the lead is located last on the setting. One or more hooks can then be attached to a wire from the top of the lead.
Baiting
Baiting with lugworm (or any other worm such as hard, jumbo, bibi, tube worm, American worm):
Lugworm (mud worms) can be used and recovered at low tide under the small serpentine mounds. It can be dug up with a shovel or fork (the fork is less damaging to these fragile animals). Jumbo can also be found on our beaches. For the other worms, it is advisable to buy them directly from fishing shops.
Strengths:
- Very attractive for sea bream
- Fits well on the hook
- Easy to find
Weaknesses:
- Difficult to look for
- Not very selective â you can take plaice, sole, Pollack... or even small bars that you should not hesitate to release.
Baiting
The worm is threaded all the way through a wormhole needle. The tip of the needle is placed on the tip of the hook and the worm is transferred from the needle to the hook. The worm often has one of its ends at the bottom of the line. This technique has the advantage of not damaging the worm too much and fixing it in such a way that the sea bream sows the entire bait and all of a sudden.
Baiting with Shrimp
Shrimp or bouquet is a choice bait for sea bream, but also for sea bass. A live, well presented shrimp is an easy prey for our Sparidae. It can be fished in the tarpaulins with a landing net during low tide, or even directly on the beach. We have to be careful to keep her alive.
Strengths:
- Very attractive
- Easy to find
- Easy to search for
Weaknesses:
- Very fragile
- Bait to keep alive
Baiting
The shrimp is very easy to bait; it is pricked by the tail. It can also be tied a little so as not to damage it when you throw. Despite these precautions, it is rare for shrimp to hold more than one throw. It is therefore not an easy to use bait.
