Tips on material for squid jigging

Here are some examples of equipment that you can find if you want to fish squid with a jig

Rod

First of all, you must remember that your equipment must be light, as you will have to support it throughout your fishing trip.
For this type of fishing, it is recommended to use a lure rod of about 2.50 m for a power of 15/40 grams; however, nothing prevents you from fishing with a 2m70 in 20/50 grams.
In the entry-level segment, you can try Ron Thompson's Hard Core II Spinning 8', made for all types of fishing, with a light and powerful composite blank, a fiberglass tip tip to optimize key detection, and SIC rings, among others. You can also find the R'Nessa Seabass from Daiwa, light and with a more sensitive action. Its heel has an increased power reserve, and its blank is very sensitive.
Coming into the top range, there will be the Hearty Rise Fun Lure, a very complete rod equipped with a Fuji DPS reel seat and Fuji-K alkonite rings; perfect for propelling and handling swimming fish. Finally, in very high end, you can choose the Branzino AGS Estuary Commander from Daiwa. Its length (2.50m) does not feel at all (it is in these sizes that such a blank equipped with carbon rings shows its interest and lightness the most). It will be suitable for fishermen who subscribe to longer rods to fish from a boat with high freeboards as well as for fishermen on board who are looking for the best sensations that a rod can provide.

Reel

For the reel, a 2500 will be more than enough for your fishing.
You can choose Volkien's Tracker 20 FD, made of corrosion-resistant graphite and equipped with, for example, two bearings, a progressive micrometric brake system and an oversized anti-twisting roller. You can go to the Cazna FA in Shimano, ideal for beginners and equipped with three protected stainless steel bearings plus one with needles.
You can also find the Penn's Conflict, light and very fluid; and has been specifically designed for technical fishermen looking for a successful model. This reel is suitable for all types of fishing at sea, on shore or in deep water.
Finally, the Daiwa Exist 2015 is equipped with Magsealed bearings (sealed and permanently fluidized by Mag Oil), which are positioned on each side of the control wheel to improve the fluidity of rotation of the reel and its service life. It is also equipped with "Automatic Tournament Drag" (A.T.D.) brake technology, which can accompany the rush gradually on a whim.

Line

You can fish with braids, without forgetting to use a fluorocarbon leader.

Braids:

For braids, you can choose for example the Gyro Braid Deep from Sufix, flexible, resistant and sensitive; or the Bassforce Jigging Braid from Hearty Rise, thin, round, tactile, silent, and resistant for its part.

Bottom of line:

You can choose the Balzer Harmono, which is a leader with swivel; or the Dragon leader.

JIg

For the jig, you can opt for a floating jig. There is no specific rule for color.
You will find among others the Jekyll Squid Lur jig from Zebco, the Rambu V3 19G from Ayabusa, the Bubblin from Yo-Zuri and finally the Draw4 from Owner.
