Tips on material for mullet fly fishing

Here are some articles that can help you choose the right equipment for fly fishing for mullet

Rod

You will need a rod strong enough for silk 7 or 8 (which is more than enough if you start), 9 to 10 feet long.
You can find Okuma's G-Force fly, a composite initiation fly rod, equipped with an inverted reel seat and snake rings. There will also be Dam's Exquisite Fly G2, lightweight, made of 30Tc carbon, with corrosion-resistant treated rings.
In the top range, you can choose the Tactical by Marryat, equipped with an anodized aluminum reel seat, or the Onede rod by Sage, the latter being made with Konnectic technology, and equipped with Fuji Ceramic starter rings (also hard chrome snake rings), and an anodized aluminum reel seat, among others.

Reel

For the reel, we recommend one that will be manual, with a good reserve of backing. You can of course try an automatic (only defect, the automatic reels may seem too fragile and incompatible with salt and sand).
At the entry level, there will be the K10 Vertu 68 reel from JMC, made of graphite and equipped with a central brake. You can then find the Vision Deep 78, equipped with a deep reel (which gives a lot of silk capacity). It is also very fluid and its brake is easily adjustable; finally, it is resistant and at the same time light. There is also the Prestige reel from Mouche Devaux which is made of machined aeronautical aluminum. It is also equipped with a central disc brake with progressive and powerful micrometric adjustment.
To finish in this category, the Serie 4200 - Ember de Sage is built in aviation grade aluminum. The waterproof SCS floating tripod brake mechanism brings softness and precision to this machine and its adjustment on a wheel turn is immediate and easy during combat.

Threads

Floating, inter or S3, the thread you choose will depend on the fishing conditions.
You can choose the Autain WF thread, which has the particularity of allowing you to throw in the wind. RIO's Scandi Shooting Head uses connectcore technology to provide the rigidity and sensitivity needed to detect fish strokes. The heads allow you to throw easily far away while keeping the advantage of a neat presentation of your fly.
JP Thebault's Simple Fuseau natural threadis handcrafted from natural thread impregnated with siccative vegetable oils. This thread is sold with a box of grease for its care.
Finally, the RIO Skagit Max Short Versitip throwing head throws very well the big flies and the fast plunging leader. In addition, the "connectcore" technology provides the necessary rigidity for key detection and maximum efficiency. A little extra to make it easier to find the line in the au when you want to reset your throw, the back part of this thread is fluorescent orange.

Fly

As for flies, you will have the choice to try different flies, here are some that you can find.
You can try the Nymph N27 of Live For Fly fishing, as well as the Noyée 41 of JMC, and the Jig 1 BL of the same brand. Finally, there will be the Bonefish MP660 by Marc Petitjean.
